Piano playing and learning to play it is not considered as a difficult task as many feel that it is one of the instruments that can be learned very easily, all that matters is the time period of learning. The skill of piano playing varies from one person to person depending on the aptitude to learn, practice and skills of a person. It requires great effort and determination to enhance the piano playing techniques and skills to attain a desired level. But when effort and determination is not there in a person even the already attained skill might diminish leading towards forgetting the skill.

To start with the learners should first listen to the various chords of the keyboard and the keys which are responsible for producing it and the recognition to reproducing each of them. The piano keys progress from the lower range to the higher range.
It should be kept in mind that there are no other instruments which have the high octaves present in the piano and hence the learners should ensure that they experiment with both the lower octaves and the higher octaves. Once the desired skill level to play the piano is achieved then it might not be very difficult to play it without any kind of sheet music.
